PHILANTHROPIES

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
has been our official philanthropy since 1958.  We raise funds to support research to find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis and to help improve the quality of life for the 30,000 children and young adults with this disease. (In 1992 scientists described the gene that can mutate and cause Cystic Fibrosis; however a cure has not yet been found.) In appreciation of the Sorority's fund raising efforts, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation named a research fellowship in honor of Delta Phi Epsilon.

The Edith Barash Stern Fund
This fund was established in honor of our past President, who supported philanthropic efforts as chosen by Grand Chapter at Convention.

The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders has been an additional recipient of our fund raising efforts since 1985. This organization is dedicated to alleviating problems of anorexia and other eating disorders. Its methods include education, news letters, counseling, self-help groups, and providing funds for research.

Delta Phi Epsilon is the only one of 26 National Panhellenic Council Sororities to sponsor an organization whose sole purpose is to alleviate eating disorders. The ANAD Candlelight Vigil is Delta Phi Epsilon's International Service Day Event, in order to raise awareness of dangers of eating disorders.

The Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation

Through grants and loans, the Foundation assists members and their children to complete their education or continue with graduate studies. It also provides funding for educational programs and leadership training for undergraduate members and advisors.  It was established in 1967 in honor of Delta Phi Epsilon’s Fiftieth Anniversary.
